What makes it special
The SlingFin Portal 3 has a lot of tricks up its sleeve and it does two things that we've never seen on any other tent. So, let's jump right in. For starters, the SlingFin Portal 3 is completely free standing which makes pitching the tent anywhere you want easy. Is your campsite nothing but solid bedrock? No problem.
On the interior of the tent you'll find one set of preinstalled internal guylines. Yes, internal! SlingFin designed this tent to handle extreme winds and the internal guyline structure helps the tent keep its shape. This is very cool. You will also notice that there are large velcro wraps on either side of the tent body. These are for trekking poles. This is another unique standout that we have not seen before.
To brace the tent for truly high winds you can add your adjustable trekking poles to bolster the tents strength. Simply wrap the velcro sleeves around the handle of your trekking poles and place the tip on the ground. Adjust as necessary for optimum strength.
