The Montana Bike Odyssey, a premier self-supported endurance cycling race, is set to challenge riders once again in 2025. Registration opens on January 2, 2025, offering a limited 50 spots for those eager to embark on this formidable journey.

Starting and concluding in Bozeman, Montana, the Odyssey spans approximately 1,750 miles, combining 1,100 miles of gravel and dirt with 580 miles of pavement, 60 miles of paved bike paths, and 10 miles of single-track. Participants will face over 103,000 feet of elevation gain, traversing diverse terrains from dense coniferous forests to expansive plains. The route includes two segments totaling 395 miles along the renowned Tour Divide race path, featuring the challenging ascent of Fleecer Ridge.

The 2024 edition saw notable performances, with Jen Kelly completing the course in 14 days, 9 hours, and 56 minutes, followed by Graham Goff and Falcon Murty, both finishing in 16 days, 10 hours, and 44 minutes. These achievements underscore the race's demanding nature and the resilience required to conquer it.

Organized by father-son duo Ben and Graham Goff, both veterans of multiple ultra-distance races, the Montana Bike Odyssey emphasizes self-reliance and equal opportunity. Participants are expected to navigate the course independently, adhering to the race's guiding principles.

Prospective riders should prepare for encounters with wildlife, including bears, and are required to carry bear spray. The race's official website provides resources on cycling safety in bear country and other essential information to ensure a safe and successful experience.
