2024 Tour De Tucson Is Coming!
The 41st annual El Tour de Tucson is set to take place on November 23, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona. This esteemed cycling event, organized by Perimeter Bicycling, has been a cornerstone of the Tucson community since its inception in 1983. Over the years, it has grown from a modest gathering of 185 riders to attracting over 9,000 cyclists annually, making it one of the premier bicycling events in the United States.
El Tour de Tucson offers various route options to accommodate cyclists of all skill levels. The 2024 event features distances of 102 miles (Century), 63 miles (Metric Century), and 32 miles (Half Metric Century). All routes start and finish at the Tucson Convention Center, providing participants with a scenic tour of southern Arizona's diverse landscapes.
Throughout its history, El Tour de Tucson has been the stage for numerous memorable finishes. In the 40th annual event, held in 2022, 26-year-old Noah Anastassatos from Scottsdale clinched victory in the grueling 102-mile Century Race, completing it in an impressive 3 hours, 41 minutes, and 27 seconds. His triumph was hard-earned, facing stiff competition from over 50 cyclists vying for the top spot.
Beyond the race itself, El Tour de Tucson is deeply rooted in community engagement and charitable giving. Since 1983, Perimeter Bicycling events have raised nearly $121 million for local and international charitable organizations. The event fosters a spirit of charity, community, health, and wellness, aligning with its mission to empower the community and encourage charitable contributions.
As the 2024 event approaches, excitement builds among participants and spectators alike. Cyclists are encouraged to register early and prepare for a day of camaraderie, challenge, and scenic beauty. Whether aiming for a personal best or simply enjoying the ride, El Tour de Tucson promises an unforgettable experience for all involved.
